Screen is black but still works

[AC Question]

i had my samsung galaxy s3 in my back pocket when i pulled it out the screen turned purple i turned it off and when i turned it back on it was pitch black .. it still works

Welcome to Android Central! The screen likely failed. If you had it in your back pocket, it's possible the screen got damaged from sitting on it. You'll need to bring it to a repair shop for screen replacement.
