Screen keeps coming on

The screen on my Moment keeps flashing on. I have the timeout set to 15 seconds. After the 15 seconds is up and the screen goes dark within 10 seconds it lights up again and will stay that way for 15 seconds. This repeats itself forever. The only thing I've done was update GDE between the time it was working okay and now.

Does anyone have any suggestions or troubleshooting techniques I can use to narrow this down? I'd prefer a factory reset be my last option but I'm too new to Android to have much of a handle on ways to track the culprit down.

Any help would be appreciated as it's very annoying.

Here's an update. When I plug the phone in to charge the screen stays dark. Sometimes I miss my old Motorola flip phone...

Another update, for anyone interested. After letting it charge all night (while running an LCD clock program) it's not behaving the same. No idea what caused it or fixed it but it seems to be working as expected, for now.

That's strange that it did that. Do you have any screen related apps on your Moment? I only ask cause when I had my BB Tour, I installed BBLight and had random moments where my back light would turn on.
