Screen keeps turning off after 3 seconds

I've had my Razr Maxx for a few days. Now all of a sudden the screen keeps timing out after 3 seconds.
I have plenty of battery power left, and I have my screen set to timeout after 2 minutes.
What is going on?

That's really weird. Have you tried rebooting your phone?

Still did it after a reboot. Did a Google search for Razr screen shutting off, and came across quite a few posts from various sites. Seems others were having the same issue.

I removed the last 3 apps I installed prior to the screen issue. So far it's working as it should.
Not sure if one of the apps was causing the problem, or if it's an issue with my phone that will come and go.

I did a search and it seems turning off in pocket detection will stop this. I just did and hope it works. It was getting really annoying.

Pocket detection was never enabled for me.

I've had the same thing happen to me as of late. Kinda irritating too. I removed the pocket detection as well. I hope all goes well with this.

So far the issue has not happened again. Keeping my fingers crossed.
