Question Screen lag/delay, whats causing it?

I have a very old phone, a Galaxy J3 V, that's recently been acting up. Now every time I turn it on the majority of the screen it tinted. Then after a few minutes the tinted section will be delayed. It's hard to explain so I'm going to share some pictures of what I'm talking about.

This usually only last for like 10ish minutes before the screen goes back to functioning normally. It doesn't affect any functionality while it's happening, just visibility.

Any idea what's going on or what might be happening? I've never seen anything like this before.

It’s difficult to tell from the first photo what the normal appearance ought to be.

The second photo shows an abnormality at the bottom of the screen.

I’d guess hardware failure, which may get worse. Backup your personal data in case I’m right.

Welcome to Android Central! I agree with belodion -- for an 8 year old phone, the most likely explanation is impending hardware failure. You could also try booting into Safe Mode, in case the problem is due to some 3rd party apps: https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-204576/

Back up the phone first and foremost. I'm fairly certain the phone is toast.
