Screen locks and freezes often

My screen seems to be very slow to respond to touch and sometimes it freezes and locks up ,, Any suggestions on how to fix this,, I have to do battery pulls at least twice a day, very annoying,,

Its the digitizer it seems the update process messes with it the only thing I can say to do besides rooting is to back up what you can and do a factory reset which will wipe everything

thanks for the help, I have been considering rooting just havent had the time to mess with it yet,,
