I've been searching the EPIC forums, found similarities but not the same as what I am experiencing. Yesterday, I had my Epic in my clutch purse while I was in the store, sent a text before I placed it there. Once I returned home, I pulled it out to check the time and the screen was blank. I assumed that the phone somehow shut off so I went to power it down and nothing! So I did a battery pull and went to power the phone back up and noticed that the sound worked because I heard the Samsung intro, but the led light did not illuminate nor did anything appear on the screen!!! I again did a battery pull, also found online how to do the hard reset to it and nothing worked because everything on the screen has become nonresponsive. Even when I hook it up to the charger, the led light does not illuminate :( So to final attempt, I pulled the battery out for 1/2hr and then replaced it before I went to sleep. Left it on the charger overnight. Woke up this morning and still nothing.
Last I can add is last week, I downloaded the free app Words with Friends and have been playing it all weekend. That's the only recent thing I have done differently. I am very anal about my electronics so it's always been covered with a screen protector and a hard case. I don't drop the phone either.
Can someone PLEASE HELP ME!

This sounds like hardware failure to me, but just in case it's software...

Try booting into download mode. This can be done by holding the 1 key on your keyboard as your're trying to boot (press it simultaneously w/ power button and long press). If it boots into recovery mode, you'll see a little yellow icon of an android guy with a shovel and a message that says "do not disconnect."

If this works, then it's a software problem (corrupted OS or something) and you can probably fix by connecting to Odin and reflashing via http://forum.androidcentral.com/epi...68-how-factory-restore-fix-bricked-phone.html

I pray that it is not a hardware issue. I just bought this phone brand new in February and unfortunately I did not get insurance :(
I tried your suggestion for holding the 1 key and power key... still nothing.

Being that new any harware failure would be covered under warranty. According to the documents the warranty is 1 year.

Thank you for your help on this! It was covered under warranty through Samsung and they ended up taking my phone in, repairing it and sending it back to me reset.

Unfortunately less than a week after receiving my phone back from Samsung, it was stolen so I had to buy another Samsung Epic.

That's some really bad luck. I hope you have no more issues.
