Screen Off not working.

Using Screen Off and Lock or other third party apps I can't get any to turn screen off. It just comes right back on. Anyone else? Any fixes?

Did you turn off the feature that keeps the screen on as long as you are looking at it?

I wish I could hit the Thanks button multiple times!
I didn't realize that Smart Stay was that sensitive. But as long as I look away when I swipe up to turn off screen, it works great. Hopefully this thread will help someone else too.

I got it working with Nova Launcher Prime and the donate version of Screen Off and Lock. Not sure if it will work with the free versions but I assume it would.

screen shuts off and then pops back on. Well thanks it was worth a shot.

Yeah after further use mine's temperamental. Works about 75% of the time.

Probably doesn't help but I haven't noticed too much.
As for the Screen off and lock, there's a setting in the app about delay device locking. As soon as I unchecked it, the screen off and lock works great even with Smart Stay active.

I can now never touch the power button again except to restart.

It also won't work if you have Auto Brightness enabled FWIW. Luckily, that's the one thing Samsung can't get right so I disable it immediately anyway. Had it enabled for a minute and the Screen Off and Lock stopped working.
