Screen or main boards ruined after water damage?

Hi
My partner has got a s4 and Friday last week our darling son decided it needed a clean, whilst she was talking to some one at the front door he decided to grab the phone and drop it in the washing up bowl (my partner said it was only a small amount of water but it could have being in there for a good few minutes.)

I immediately got the screwdrivers out and took the back off and sure enough there was water on the boards inside. So it was dabbed and then had some hair dryer treatment followed by a couple nights in rice.

Decided to put it back together and try it out today but it didn't come on. I have bought a new battery and it still don't come on. The red led at the front isn't lighting up, no vibration nothing.i left it charging for about an hour and the battery was stone cold so it clearly isn't charging.

This leads me to believe it is something wrong with the main board (possibly the one with the charger port)

I have won a auction tonight for a s4 with a broken digitiser (screen don't turn on but bottom buttons come on, all vibrates make noise etc) so would it be possible that the screen and digitiser are fine and I can just replace the fronts?

It's possible. You really have nothing to lose, since both phones are now useless.

For future information, though, read Oh, no! My Phone got Wet!. You'll understand what you did wrong. (Taking the phone apart to get alcohol into every tiny crevice is really the right way to do it - after the first bath to absorb as much water as possible.)

I recon your right but would this also take the screen out? I have won 281911027312 (item number for fleabay)
S4 but the digitiser is broke, the bottom lights light up, vibrates, makes sound still. I was hoping that my partners screen will be able to take its place and work but am not sure of the chances of survival. I have bought it so it will hopefully work but if not I will have to buy a digitiser for it aswell I guess.

I read this after and read hair dryer was bad for it as it can push water. I didn't have rubbing alcohol to hand but used surgical spirit to go round the contacts aswell though (I think they almost the same) for the sake of £30 I going to try swapping screens if not ill have to buy a new screen which costs about £50/£60 on ebay so it about the same as a 2nd hand s4 anyway.
