How do I it off, have tried so many options from friends and YouTube buh still doesn't work out right for me.

You need to find the app that is acting as the overly and disable/uninstall it.
Frequent apps:
screen dimmers (Lux, Twilight)
sliding trays/menus
floating bubbles for messaging apps
multiple apps by Cheetah Mobile
