Screen problem when using navigation

I seem to be having a problem in Google Maps Navigation that the screen randomly starts up. I like to keep my screen off when it's not needed, but now it randomly wakes up and sometimes flashes on and off until I press the power button again.

Anyone else having this issue?

If I return to the home screen and leave navigation running in background, everything's fine.

I was a little worried that I was the only one. I guess it is a good thing in a way to see others having the same issue.

As APeX pointed out, going back to the home screen solves this problem for the time being. Even tho it is a pain in the ass to jump back and forth while driving...

Is it possible that this is a "feature" not functioning completely as intended? An auto-wake while Nav is running in case you needed to look at the screen, you no longer have to fidget with the device to unlock it.

Nope, that would be a neat feature if that was the case, but the screen doesn't just come on and stay on. It will start to flash on and off with the screen shutdown animation every time. To stop it, you have to hit the power button to keep the screen on.
