HI
I bought this phone about 2 mounths ago, and see what happend. I never droped it, I never pushed it hard or anything. And another concern is that the orange stain that is in the upper left corner of the screen is going deeper and bigger. And the batery life is very poor. Too disappointed.
Bye

Welcome to Android Central and the G3 forum. I hope you'll stay with us. :)

The yellow mark is probably damage to the display caused by an overheating processor, which I believe is just underneath that area.
Battery life on the G3 is normally good, so if your experience is the opposite, you may have a duff battery.
Do you have any kind of warranty?

I have one on the opposite side, smaller and yellow.

My iPhone 4 once did the same. I think its where the glue melts, often caused by overhearing as mentioned above.

I will be contacting lg as in warranty.

And gsam battery monitor says my avg screen on time for a full charge is 2hr 30 which seems to fall well short of other users!

Took the opportunity to speak to LG UK warranty today about my yellow mark on screen also mentioned the battery life.

They confirmed there is a problem on lollipop causing battery life issues on the G3 and were awaiting for Google to fix - they could not provide me with any details so I would have to live with my battery life being about 5-6 hours with moderate use.

What about the hardware defect? Did they address that as well?

I would think this is a fluke..I hope. With as many G3's out there I would think something like this would have made its self known several months ago with all the over heating reports. I have never had an overheating issue with that pop up message indicating it is hot. Did they correct the defect for you and replace the phone? How hard would it be to replace the screen?

They said if I sent them a photo through the "contact us" link on their page they would look at it and come back to me.

Thank u for your answer, I think the same that is the overheating. My warranty time has expired. :(

I understand, but I'd still contact LG. Maybe they don't mind fixing it for a smaller price than it would cost you to replace it.
