I use it, applying them used to drive me nuts. Instead I pay extra to get ghost armor people to do the job for me. $30 is stiff but ine less thing to waste my energy on getting it right.

I gave up on them a long time ago. No matter how careful I am, there are always bubbles. Now I use a stylus that works great. With a stylus, the screen stays clean and I don't worry about scratches anymore.

I have tried a stylus on a number of different tablets and the Nexus works the best.

I'm not a fan of the way screen protectors make the screen look or feel and I would just rather rub the finger prints away with a lens rag, shirt, or whatever is handy. I pocket my phone with my keys and have never had an issue with scratched glass. Screen protectors are definitely a personal thing though...

I've no interest in using one on the N7 - this will rarely be tossed around or put in a spot (like a pocket) like a cell phone to be rubbed up against things. I've had an iPad for a few years without one with no issues.

I used to use one on my Gnex, and would never be caught without one, but recently I took it off and will just live dangerously. I much prefer both devices without one at this point.

All my gadgets have ultra clear protectors. Doesn't ruin visibility like those anti fingerprint ones. I prefer to be on the safe side than risk scratches because of some previous experience. But that's just me

SGP expensive.... can't tell its there. I have the crystal clear. Check YouTube for reviews.

Now that I have a poet case I don't think I'll get a screen cover.

I have an anti-glare 'anti-fingerprint' screen protector. definite degradation in screen clarity, but not enough to drive me crazy.

does a great job of diffusing glare, so it's easier to use outside--for me, the benefits outweigh the cons.

I gave up on using them, don't like the grainy look and degradation of the screen quality... However, there have been some crystal clear ones that i've tried and they worked great but they, being inexpensive tend to get scratched easily. If you can live with that..then you're good to go.
Otherwise, corning gorilla glass holds up pretty well in my opinion and i don't think i'll get any screen protectors anymore. Plus, my Note is better off without a screen protector because of the S-pen!

Have hated them since my first smart phone and won't use them. Never had a problem with scratches on any device with GG, or even the regular "scratch resistant" Corning glass.

I too generally hate them, and am so glad that there are screen glass products that make them unnecessary for most people that take careful care of their phones/tablets. I remember trying to use them on my PDAs back in the day, and no matter which style I used, they didn't feel right and/or messed with the screen image. I've looked at a number of peoples' devices more recently that have protectors, and it reminds me why I don't use them. My ~3yr old OG Droid still has an essentially perfect screen without it, as do my Razr & Nexus 7. If I had kids & they had a tablet, I might use a protector though.

I hate screen protectors tried one on my phone for about a month then I removed it because of the air bubbles. Now my phone and tablet go without them.

Hmm I don't mind my screen protector, never had any loss of touch responsiveness nor air bubbles (wet application)
I just like the extra protection
Just my opinion though

I use clear protectors on all my devices. The proof is in the fact that I will usually see a nick or scratch within a few weeks. Is Gorilla Glass or Corning glass perfect? Hell no -- I have a colleague who got a scratch on a Rezound in a few days and was protecting the phone in a case.

I bought amFilm protectors from Amazon (two for 1), and it works and fits great. It's too good a fit, it literally goes from bezel to bezel so applying it takes care (I lined it up on the right side, and let it settle right to left). That can be a challenge for some, slightly down-sized protectors are easier to position, but when I got this brand's on, you literally cannot see it unless you look at the hole over the camera. I should post a pic. :)

Getting a bubble and lint-free application isn't easy, but here're some tips that, with patience and care, can get you an invisible application in 10-20 minutes.

  • Use a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth or newly opened, disposable lens cleaner cloth to clean the screen. (I prefer the latter, I now they're clean, and when they dry they can be a good buffing cloth for the protector.)
  • Use a can of compressed air, not the lint-free cloth, for the final cleaning/drying before applying the film. Keep it handy, you'll need it again.
  • Use a rolled up tube of Scotch Magic Tape to remove lint from the underside. Change (make a new one) frequently!
  • Blow the screen with compressed air every time you remove and reposition the protector. Blow away from you and away from the area where you're working.
  • When it's applied, use a silicone-edge mixing bowl scraper (like this or this (which I like better; you can remove the blade, and there are both a soft and harder flat edge) to squeegee out the bubbles.
  • Bubbles will flow out on the edge easily with a silicone scraper; motes of lint will not, will stay put, and you can see the lint. Carefully lift up the protector (use the Scotch tape to lift if you've removed the outer covering, NOT a fingernail), and dab with the tube of tape to remove the lint.
  • With the outer protection sheet still on the protector, use a Sharpie or other marker to mark where lint has stuck to the underside. If you've already taken it off (sometimes necessary to work the bubbles out), use a Post-It tape flag to mark the spot.

I should post a video.....

I have a Ghost Armor on my Nexus 7, best $30 I ever spent (had them put it on at the kiosk). You have to really search for it to even notice it's on there, it's so clear, and just is an amazing product. I used a Clear Coat on my Kindle Fire, and didn't like it, screen still got smudgy, The Ghost Armor does not get smudgy.

I caved in and purchased a SGP Spigen Ultra Clear screen protector. It was about $25 for ONE... Expensive but I didn't want to deal with wet application screen protectors due to the Orange Peel effect they seem to have...

Well, I'm really unhappy with it. Its got a rainbow effect that's annoying at certain angles and a bunch of dust under it no matter how careful I was in my steam-filled bathroom using scotch tape, the dust-tapes and the squeegee! GRR!

I can feel the difference and can feel the plastic there. Its not as smooth as the naked screen and not as clear either, especially with some of the dust particle distorting the screen...

I'm seriously considering sending it back and demanding a refund. I'm not happy with this rainbow, overpriced, dust-laden piece of plastic.

Think I'm just going to stick to naked.
