Screen Protector making screen over responsive/wonky?

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but I just got one of those "fancy" glass screen protectors on my HTC One and I am finding that my screen is now overly sensitive. When I try to scroll up and down, a lot of times it registers the movement as a tap instead and loads whatever my finger ends up touching (this is most apparent in 9gag. lol)

Is there a setting I can adjust to offset this or calibrate?
