screen protector options

So i thought I would go out and get my new s10 a screen protector today, my preference has always been plastic over glass but they didn't have any at the place I went to. Tried on the glass and found out what all of you already know, it's not compatible with the ultrasonic fingerprint reader so I decided against it.

I've since found out about the whitestone and one or two other similar brands, but I don't think we have them locally and I'm not really interested spending that amount of money or effort on a screen protector. I guess my options are a plastic one, which I'm fine with, or a cheaper glass protector but disable the fingerprint reader and use the pin or facial recognition instead.

I'm wondering what you guys are all using, plastic or glass, and your options for getting into the phone. Personally my first preference would be plastic, if they are not available, i'm probably fine with a regular glass one using facial recognition and pin for when I'm wearing a facemask outdoors.

Wrong. Zagg glass works fine with the fingerprint sensor.

Not only that, it's a superb product overall.

I usually don't use screen protectors, but I decided to get one for my S10 in case I accidentally put my phone and coins or my car keys in the same pocket. I chose the OTAO protector which is not glass but TPU. It has a slight rubbery feel which is suppose to self heal for small gouges. So far, it's been working fine for me. Screen clarity is good and the fingerprint print sensor works ok.

Hope you don't mind, I moved this from the general S10 forum to the S10 Accessories forum for more specific traffic.

Thanks for putting it in the correct section.

I've since been able to pick up a cheap 5usd plastic screen protector. It's actually quite good, wraps around the whole screen, has a more rubbery feel to it than plastic. Color isn't as good and I can't see the AOD outdoors but fingerprint response is much better. I'd be happy with this if not for the horizontal line across the top of the phone, 2mm below the camera because the screen protector is separated into two segments for application and the line between the segments is visible.

Ah, there is the rub for Samsung Galaxy S10 owners: finding the perfect screen protector! It's really been a struggle for me, as well.

If you really want a glass screen protector but want to use the in-display fingerprint reader, there are glass screen protectors that have a hole cutout for your fingerprint sensor. I used one when I got my phone, but I ended up ditching it because I was afraid of the glass being unprotected and vulnerable.

Now, I'm on my second Samsung- manufactured plastic film screen protector. It feels premium and not as "cheap" or even "plastic," if that makes sense. It's a two-pack, so the first screen protector lasted six months and now I'm on the second one. It's a great deal but I've also noticed that the protrctor will eventually bubble up due to the curved edges. However, it's been the best option for me thus far.
