I finally ditched the Verizon anti-glare screen protector for a Skinomi TechSkin. I recommend it. It is smooth and clear. The only "issue" is that it is a wet application and can be a PITA to make it perfect. It looked horrible on day 2 after install, but got better with time. Here is the link: Skinomi TechSkin - Motorola DROID MAXX Screen Protector.

ive heard bad things about the anti-glare protectors. the regular ones are supposedly better. i have the regular on my maxx and honestly its fine. i personally find the wet application to be easier as you can move the plastic around before it sets, only thing that sucks is leaving the device for a period of time (or atleast it is recommended). ive had a skinomi before and it saved my screen. got tired of the rubbery feel which is why i dont use anymore.

Installed my Skintomi last week and it is awesome. Very easy to install and super clear. No orange peel look. No complaints!

Quick question- judging by the pics it looked like the plastic covers the front camera and light sensor. Is that true?

Are the Skinomi protectors as good as or better than Zagg Invisible Shields? I'd prefer to go with Zagg but it doesn't look like they make them for the Maxx. I put one on my Droid Incredible 3 years ago and it's still in perfect shape.

I can't believe Moto named this phone the Maxx. Worst name ever. Not a single employee of any company seems to be able to differentiate between Droid Maxx and Razr Maxx/HD.

I've seen some places that refer to it as the Droid Ultra Maxx. It's not consistent, but worth a try when trying to distinguish. Probably should've been the official name.

I have a Skinomi on my Maxx (because, as you say, Zagg still does not sell them.) It was less expensive.

I like it a lot more than Zagg protectors. The plastic is much smoother.

It is wet apply, but I prefer that more, as i can never do the dry ones just right, and often en up with dust specks underneath. I installed mine in the bathroom after I took a shower, so the air was very humid. It worked great.

After having my display naked for almost two months, I got my first tiny scratch and decided to get the Skinomi screen protector. Right after I applied it, I noticed that the cutout for the camera over laps one side by about 2mm and so far it looks like it's enough to cause a decent amount of glare on the front camera. I'm sure it's centered properly because if I line up the holes, it hangs off the right side of the phone. Has anyone else noticed this or is mine defective?

I have the Skinomi. Mine seems to line up almost perfect. I think the hole for the sensors could have been a tad bigger on the left side. Have had no problems though.

Mine is also perfect. I think you have a defect.

I only used Skinomi on my Gnex before I got the Maxx. I love their protectors. For some reason I switched to a different one for my Maxx (and my N10 and my wife's iphone)...IQ SHIELD

I think the protection is on par with Skinomi, application (wet) is simple, and the screen is 100% absolutely clear, and the feel is almost as smooth as glass...smoother than Skinomi. Highly recommended. I actually got the full phone skin for my Maxx, but I only put the screen protector on so far. I use a case 90% of the time, but if I decide not to, maybe I'll put the rest of the skin on.

Yeah. I think so too. I got a reply from Skinomi asking for a photo of it before they send me a replacement. Fortunately, they seem to take customer satisfaction very seriously!
