Screen protectors and button issues?

i saw a thread over on xda about people having issues using screen protectors (namely spigen, the glass t and to a lesser extent their crystal clear plastic one) and the buttons not responding. Any one have any experience with these issues? is it a phone problem or is the material for the screen protector causing the issue? I have used nothing but spigen screen protectors and planned in them for the One.
