Screen protectors: Necessary or no?

The LG G has Gorilla Glass 3 so I know it will be great, but it's also on my arm which wings around all day bumping into things.

LOL... I kept my factory plastic on until it started to peel up .

Not bothering as I hate the feel of them and if I smack the watch face hard enough to break it I doubt a screen protector is doing anything to stop it. Should be fine for scratches wtc. but we will see.

I just applied one of these today. First impressions: It does seem to help a bit with smudges on the screen, which should improve daytime visibility. The screen protector has a good feel to it, extremely smooth. My only issue is that the screen protector is just a hair smaller than the screen. The bubbles on the edges are probably my fault, I applied it in a hurry.
