So I bought the Verizon 3 pack when I bought my phone and I really dislike the quality of them. They get smudges all over them quite easily and its kind of annoying. Has anyone here bought the Invisible Shield for their Droid? I had one for my Blackberry 8330 and I liked the quality of it, and it was a hell of a lot easier to apply with the liquid too. Anyone have any other recommendations for brands?

I'd recommend PhantomSkinz. You can get 2 for the price of one plus there's a promotional code going on now for 33% off. It's winter33 or something like that, should say on their site. I have them on mine and they're great. They're basically the same thing as the IS except they're clear coated so they have an extra layer on top that makes them much smoother to the touch and not sticky like I thought the IS were. They can get scratched but within hours the scratches disappear so every morning you wake up to a new clear protector, sometimes it doesn't even take that long, just a few minutes for the scratches to disappear.

You can get a pack of 2 for $7 shipped.

They don't come with liquid, just a squeegee; but the instructions say just to use water. I kept a bowl of water and just dipped it in and then placed it on and squeegeed it out as I laid it down.

I actually use the Skinomi TechSkin. It is essentially the same thing as the InvisiShield (in durability, finish, material, etc), however with 1 big difference: the TechSkin is not wavy/textured like the IS. I had a IS on my Blackberry, and I could actually see the ripples/waves in the material, and could feel it. With, TS, that is greatly (GREATLY) reduced, and it feels like a smooth surface. I love it.

Now if I could only not be a klutz when putting it on...

I use the Invisible Shield. You only get one, and it's guaranteed for life. If you need more than one screen protector for a device, it means that eventually your screen won't be protected.

The PhantomSkinz are guaranteed for life too, the reason they come with 2 is in case you mess up on installation.

Unless you're sliding your phone down the blacktop, you dont need a screen protecter for the DROID. It has Gorilla Glass!

I highly recommend SGP's Steinheil Crystal screen protector. However, if smudges really bother you it's probably not the best choice. I have no experience with it but SGP also makes an anti-fingerprint screen protector.

Gorilla Glass, all you need ;)
You need to read around a bit more. Gorilla Glass is scratch resistant. It is not, however, unscratchable as some have discovered the hard way.

Now, whether you want a protector or not is a personal judgment call.

I know it's not, but for the most part, it is.

Have yet to scratch my phone and I've dropped it a couple times.

I'm definitely for the Skinomi on this one. Purchase either from Skinomi.com or through Amazon. Bought them for our two Droids and now buying for the kids' iPod Touch units.

Great cover and finger press/slide on the screen is fine afterward.

I have used both the Skinomi and I am currently using the Invisible shield. The only issue I had with the Skinomi was that when I was on the website, and tried to register for the lifetime replacement, it would not allow me. I have also seen on some other forums where people have had the same issues when they have tried to do some exchanging or attempting to exchange for their warranty. Both were very easy to put on, and both I believe made the screen look great, but I prefer the Invisible shield myself. Had one on my Palm Pre, and currently use one on my droid, and loving it so far.

Yes, I found the same problem. I emailed them directly, and they said I had already been registered through purchasing it on amazon.

Used two of the Verizon ones, but now on to Boxwave anti-glare. Much nicer feel on the touchscreen with Boxwave.

I want to see how theBoxwave stands up to fingerprints

I just got some off eBay and I know we all think eBay stuff is crap but to be honest these things are nice I had an invisible shield on my hero but i figured I would give these a shot. I'm glad I did they feel just like the invisible shields but without those ripples and the price. I have 5 droid in my family total and I ordered the big pack of 11 for 5.99 with free shipping and 1 of them was messed up upon arrival, it was a little too long but I let the seller know and he offered me a full refund or a whole new set, guy is very resonabl and he replaced all 11 for that 1 that was messed up.

I don't have enough posts yet but here is the seller Xtreme-Guard-Screen-Protectors better yet put this in the search bar and it will take you straight to them.

Yeah, I totally agree with that, I bought a screen protector for my cell phone, it works fine, I love it.

i dropped my phone once and the screen protector got a scratch on it. wondering if the glass would have gotten a scratch if the protector wasn't on it... or is that glass really that "wonderful" that it wouldn't. lol

Screen Protectors, essensial?

Not to beat this topic to death, but what's the big deal with these screen protectors, i keep hearing Ooos and Aahhs about gorilla glass, and have even watched the videos on youtube of people taking ridiculous measures to fail at scratching them, so what needs protecting???

Thanks in advance! :D
