Screen Protectors

So...I've seen screen protectors from a few different companies. Skinomi, Phantomskinz, bodyguardz, to name a few. What I'm wondering is if anybody has tried them on the G2X yet. The reason I ask is because of the curve of the glass at the edges. Normally I'm a fan of dry apply anti-glare, but I'm thinking that wet apply will stick better to the curve, and phantomskinz is the only one i've found that makes an anti-glare wet apply screen protector.

Thoughts? I'd prefer not to hear "don't use a screen protector"

Thanks

don't use one.

JUST KIDDING! lol

I'm using the one from Tmo store and it doesn't even go all the way to the edges. it's not a bad thing. i'm just saying it only covers the actual screen and nothing more. i'd prefer it that way so that it wouldn't get caught up in my cases and stuff.

Yeah I saw those. I want more edge to edge than that. Even top to bottom leaving out the curved sides would be ok with me.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm not sure how it will handle screen protectors with the sloped sides.

The only good dry ones I've found so far are these:
LG P990 Optimus 2X Screen Protector from Clarivue

Clarivue is of really high quality. I got them for my Nexus S when I had it. They're thinner, though, so I'm not sure if they'll do well on the sides. SGP doesn't have screen protectors for the G2x or optimus 2x yet, but they should be good quality too.

Check out the Zagg Invisible Shield. Best protector I've ever used.

I've never liked them personally. If I go wet I'll get the phantomskinz matte full body kit. They are dumb and don't sell just the matte screen protector.

I used a matte finishe because of glare also but i hated how it killed the image quality. found a happy medium with the zagg even though it isnt the most glide friendly surface lol

Do phantomskinz have the orange peel/tackiness problem? That's what bothers me about Zagg.

No. Not at all. I had both on my Palm Pre and definitely liked the Phantomskinz 1000% more. I want to try the matte one, because I prefer those, but $25 is a lot considering I'm not gonna use the full body kit.

What about Skinomi? Are their protectors any good? (They say they avoid the orange peel problem, but I have no experience with them)

I have no personal experience with them personally. For me it's more about the feel than the look. IMHO no wet apply skin has the feel of a decent matte finish dry apply. That's why I'm so interested in the Phantomskinz. Seems like it could be the best of both worlds. Durability of a wet apply with the look and feel of dry apply.

Same with me. I got used to the PowerSupport films for the iPhone, and so far have only found SGP as a viable alternative for other handsets. (and they don't make Optimus2x/G2X protectors)

Not yet. ;)

Seidio is a good alternative to SGP, but they have nothing yet either.

You don't need a screen guard, you've got Gorilla glass. Google or Youtube Gorilla glass and you'll see why it's not needed. But if you want it for glare/fingerprints, I've used NLU products for years on my old Palm Pre and thounsands of them commercially with great success.

Has it really been confirmed that the G2X has Gorilla glass ??? I haven't heard a definitive answer. I'm just sayin'.
