Screen remains dark when phone call ends

Hello people!

When I finish a phone call and take the phone away from my face to hang up the screen is dark and I either have to wait for them to hang up or manually turn on the screen to hang up. This is since the latest update. Any idea how to fix this?

Do you have a screen protector or cover installed? Proximity sensor may be blocked with a screen protector.

Is the proximity sensor where the front camera is?

I think the sensor is on the left. Had to remove the screen protector to see if they were right. They were.
