Android Central Question

a bit of a complex problem.

Galaxy S7 with Android 7

The screen comes on about every 30 seconds by itself after shutting off without being touched. Also the home button will only bring up google assistant and not go home and after that happens the power button will no longer work. I don't believe this is a hardware issue because the power button will work fine shutting the screen on and off but will only stop working once I've pressed the home button. Restarting in safe mode the same thing happens. I did a factory reset and it is still happening. This started happening a few months ago but it just stopped doing it on its own. (it happened a few times but would resolve itself and then start happening again later) I think it has something to do with the "Google Play Services for Instant Apps" because when it was happening before it always seemed to happen when that was updated. Now I don't know whats going on.

I'd like to add that the screen doesn't come on when connected to the computer via USB and charging but does come one when unplugged or plugged in to charge with the AC adapter.
