Screen Resolution and Battery Life

Have any of you noticed a difference in battery life when dropping screen resolution from WQHD to FHD? My battery life sucks, so I went a full day on FHD and noticed zero difference.

It helps, but only while the screen is on and not that much unless your doing something graphically demanding.

Phone idle being your biggest power draw makes me wonder if you've got poor coverage and it's working to maintain a connection to the towers. Most people don't realize poor network connection causes battery drain.

Yeah most of the solutions to N5 battery drain have always pointed to poor coverage. However, when I travel for business and spend a week in a metro area with 5 bar signal I experience similar battery life. And putting my phone in airplane mode and using wi-fi calling does not help either. So, I'm not really sure what the deal with my N5 is. I've had it for 2 years. May need to do the upgrade to the N8.

screen brightness is my biggest battery draw. also nougat has the battery features that put all the apps to sleep. that helps too
