Screen shots: no rooting needed (All US versions)

Hold down the back button and then hit the power button.
You will hear a shutter sound.
The images should be in the Gallery app (under Screen shots) located in the application menu.

Simple! No Rooting required!

UPDATE: It seems like you can also take screen shots of applications as well. Not just the home screen! COOL! :D

Works on the Sprint version, too! Nice find! Gonna make you famous on the blog now. :)

This is really great news- I just wish it wasn't attached to the back button. Because its attached to this, you can only take pics of your home screens and not running apps. Am I right in assuming that? I tried it at the store today and could only get it to work on the home screens.

The T-mobile version works regardless of which screen you are in. I even took one while playing a game.

I hear the click, but I can't find the screen shots in Gallery.

Thanks, cb = Verizon Tab

Thanks for your reply. For some reason, it wasn't there for one full day, but now it is there. Weird!!

it also works on the Verizon Tab as well, unrooted (for now) and to get the pictures instantly look in your application drawer and open the my files icon and look for screen capture in there.

Works on stock U.S. Cellular Galaxy Tab! [no root] :D

Screenshots will be saved to the gallery in "ScreenCapture"

Topic title should be changed as I believe this will work on ALL Galaxy Tabs. It must have been something Samsung put in.
