Screen smudges from palm rests

One tiny annoyance on the Pixelbook is that the silicone palm rests always cause some smudging on the screen after it's been closed for a little while. Obviously, it's simple enough to wipe it away with a cloth, but has anyone figured out a simple way of preventing this from happening?

Maybe place a thin cloth before closing the lid? Not sure if it'll stay in there while closed, but that could be one stop-gap.

Yeah, I thought about that, but I think it'd look weird, since the cloth would always be visible. Was wondering if there was any kind of treatment I could apply to the palmrests to prevent this, but I doubt it.

What about going the other way, where you install a screen protector to the display?

That's a good idea. I usually shy away from them, since I can never install them perfectly, and I'm sure the slight crookedness or tiny retained air bubbles would probably drive me crazy, though.

I'm pretty bad about putting them on with smartphones and tablets...you should see how looked when I put it on my old Nexus 10. Give it a try, and let us know it that worked.

Do you clean the rests? I clean mine with alcohol wipes.
