Screen stays on while charging

Hi. When I connect my phone to the charger, my screen just stays on. I have to lock it to turn it off. Is that normal? The daydream doesn't work.

my X turns on when I plug it on the charger too maybe it's just a Motorola thing

Hi. I found the solution. Go to settings, phone info and press the model number at the bottom 7 times. Developer settings should appear above it. Open and turn off stay awake.
