Screen time 50%

As I've seen in another thread, my screen time is always at 50%,even though I haven't touched my phone on hours. Brightness is all the way to the left and on auto.

Whatever is causing the screen to think it's on is causing my battery to drain faster than I would like.

Any suggestions?

I've noticed mine doing the same thing. Apparently having the "auto" box checked isn't the best from what I've read. I keep mine very low and not on auto. It's better, but sometimes still uses lots of battery, even when my phones not in use.

The simple answer is, with the screen being as big and beautiful as it is, it will always be the top consumer of battery power, barring extenuating circumstances.. Best tip would be to keep it at a level that is comfortable for you, and leave it at that.. My everyday use is about 4 hours of screen on time, which equates to about 53% of the battery drain.. YMMV, just my two cents..

Have you charged the battery to 100% and then unplugged it? That's the only way to reset the battery stats and start from scratch. If you're not charging it fully, the stats include prior usage time, not just current, and won't reflect recent usage. If you have charged it to 100%, unplugged it, and are still showing screen at 50% with little actual usage, do screen captures of the battery stats and Screen usage pages, and post them here. Without data, there's really nothing we can do.

I've had the battery fully charged and then unplugged the phone. I found that the screen was still consuming a good bit of the battery. I used to have the display set to auto, but then moved the slider to the left. I found that I couldn't see the screen most of the time, so I had to put it back on auto. If I don't use the phone at all during the day. I can get more use out of the battery. Just using the phone for a few minutes throughout the day results in a steady decline of the battery.

Do the screen captures as posted in all the other battery threads, and let us see what's happening. To be most meaningful, start with a full charge and use the phone until the battery gets down to around 50%, or lower, and then do the screen captures.
