Screen turns on every time on new notification

I really liked in 4.0.4 how the screen wouldn't turn on every time I got a new notification. I liked having the sound and the pulse light glow, but the screen remaining dark.

Since I updated to 4.1.1 the screen turns on every time.

Any way to disable this?

That's not normal behavior. You must have installed some kind of notification app that is waking the screen.

I just tested it on my phone with several notification and all I get is the flashing light at the bottom when there's a new message or SMS ... the screen doesn't turn on ...

My screen also does not turn on with notifications. Just sound and/or vibrate with the flashing LED.

Ha! I think I found the problem.

Using GoSMS, an option for notifications is "turn the screen on"

I'll go ahead and uncheck that... lol

Now I'll wait for a text and see if that solved the problem.
