I set my phone to turn its screen off after a minute. The screen won't lock that way though unless I lock it by pressing the side button. Anyone else have this issue?

I havent had this issue myself, but i always use the lock button anyways.

I would try setting a different time frame for the screen time out and restart the phone to see if it still does it first.

Rebooting the phone worked. Hopefully it doesn't come back, but the above post seems to indicate that the fix is temporary.

Good to hear, usually on wierd glitches, a reboot can fix them. Now, if they a reocurring, that would point to a different problem with the phone or the software.

Do you notice any correlation with GChat? After I reboot, it seems to be fine until I use GChat, and then the screen won't go to sleep...

Using Google Talk didn't seem to make a difference. I haven't had any issue since rebooting. Hopefully the problem has gone away.

That is wierd. I dont know what next. Maybe take it into a Sprint tech store and see what they say.

I'm not going to sweat it. It really isn't that big of a deal. Maybe it will be fixed by the update that is rumored to come.

Update? Dwayne said there's an update coming! Let's get this thread to 500+ posts because of it! J/K

:-)

Update:

I waited for the upgrade to see if it helped... but it didn't. Still had the issue of the screen staying on. So, I tried to isolate some possibilities. First on the list was NoLED.

Ever since I uninstalled NoLED, I haven't had any problems. It's been several days, whereas before it would start to misbehave within several hours (or, maybe after each NoLED notification?).

So, let me know if you have NoLED and have the same results when you remove it (or maybe just deactivate it, I guess uninstalling it might have been overkill).

Which leads to an obvious question: what are some other useful notification apps for our LED-free phones?

Problem is, I've never downloaded NoLED.

I just got a Nexus replacement that was having this very problem. Since I had to start from scratch anyways I just did another hard reset on the phone and it fixed the problem for now. I'll let you know if it returns. It's very annoying indeed!

I have the same problem but with a ATT version it all started after I rooted the phone, and every time I shut down the phone and turn it on it fixes but temporarily. I have NoLed installed on the phone even before I rooted it and back then I did not had that problem, just uninstalled it to see if it helps
