screenshots shared to photos are dated 1970?

on my wife's 5X, she likes to grab screenshots of crap from pinterest. to do so, she long presses Home and using google on tap shares to google photos. she couldnt find them in photos even tho it appeared to upload. i eventually stumbled onto all of them at the bottom of the list because they are dated january 1970. tried several times myself and got the same results. my s7e works correctly. havent tested my 5X yet. i tried rebooting and clearing photos and play services cache. no luck. some quick googling didnt reveal anything. i checked, and the time is set for "use network time". i toggled it off and on no help. anyone have some ideas?

What happens if she takes the screenshot by pressing and holding Power and Vol Down for about half a second?

that works but according to her is "more difficult". ill agree its more cumbersome, especially with the case on the phone, the buttons arent real easy to press. it is a work around for the time being. still curious why the other way stopped working. now there's a bunch of stuff at the very bottom of the photos gallery with the wrong date too.

But when she takes the screenshot using the button method, is the date correct? If so, then I would guess it's a glitch with the Google app. Try clearing the app cache and data for the Google app.

yeah, the button method correctly puts the curent date. also, i misspoke in my original post, using now on tap to share to google photos on my s7e also saves the date as 1970. must be a bug. already tried the cache clearing on the 5X. she'll just have to use the buttons and my sammy has a gesture for screencaps so im good too.
