I talked to the RS manager yesterday to see if they received any extra Evos since I wasn't able to preorder. He said that he did and we set up an appointment for 4:30p today. I asked several times if I was definitely getting one as I could have secured a one at a different store with a deposit. He assured me that he didn't need a deposit and that there would be an evo waiting for me.

Well as you can already guess, the store didn't have one when I got there at 4:00p. The manager wasn't there, but I did talk to him on the phone. He first tried to tell me that he tried several times to contact me last week because he didn't have a preorder deposit. I had to remind him twice that we just set things up yesterday. He then told me the district manager took all the extras that didn't have a deposit. I should have known this going to happen, I have never had a good experience with RS... The main reason I was so upset was he never even thought of contacting me to let me know he didn't have an evo for me...he had me on the appointment sheet (I saw my info on the appointment sheet when I first arrived). I could have had more time to find a different store that had an extra if I would have known.

The Sprint store saved the day though. I was trying to avoid the mail in rebate, but would definitely rather have the phone now than having to wait any longer. This phone is AMAZING!

Today will be the last day I ever set foot into a RS...

Lets see if I get this straight. You did not put a deposit down like the other 200,000 people getting an Evo (which BTW is a pretty demanded phone right now) and you are upset at RadioShack?

You took a chance and got burned. Did you really expect to stroll in at 430pm after people actually went in early at 6AM to get the phone?

Jeesh...take some responsibility dude.

I never go to RS and hadn't been in one for years, but the folks here in Salt Lake were fantastic. Set up an appointment and everything went fine until Sprint's Snap as they called it freaked out. They solved the problems and I was out the door and to work on time.

I hate Radioshack. I got burned there once on a cell phone deal. I decided to go back because they were waiving the rebate and a 20 dollar credit toward accessories.

I was there for an hour and a half. It was just two people running the show and
another manager was just hanging out in the back room. I wasnt stressing because they were trying.

I got my phone and a free micro usb car charger.
I did put the deposit down because I thought ahead. You didnt. Sht was
crazy all day for this phone and 4 pm is kind of late.

I know it was late, but he assured me several times that there would be one there. I'm not upset about the deal, just that he didn't have the decency to let me know before getting to the store that he couldn't keep his word. Typical service that I usually get there anyways...

The Shack couldn't get my upgrade to go through, had to end up going through the sprint store, but I got my EVO so all is well

Very poor service. I think you have every right to be upset. The least he could have done was contact you with the bad news.
