was messing around trying to flash cm7 thru various rom manager type apps n usually i had a backup to restore too but for some reason im quite sure i deleted it when i was going thru my sd card earlier n now im stuck in a bootloop n no way of having anything to recover too. so i guess my question is what can i do to restore my phone or is there anyway to get this to work as i have tried plenty of things after reading other threads n have just found nothing.

Can you get into Recovery? If so, just transfer a ROM zip to your sd card and flash it. If not, you can try flashing a Recovery img through HBOOT, then flashing a ROM. Or you can flash a stock ROM RUU. There's a guide over on xda in the Inspire forum with information on how to fix this. As long as you can get into HBOOT you should be be able to get it back running.

Go back to a stock rom. It will need to be rooted and in pd98img.zip format and you will need to place it on the root of the SD card. Once that is done, boot into hboot by holding volume down and pressing the power button. The phone will scan for, locate the file, and ask for confirmation to install. Once you are up and running, if the stock rom didn't include rom manager, download from the market and flash custom recovery. From there, you can flash any custom rom again.

If you still have custom recovery, you can flash any rom from there as a zip file. You just need a way to get it on the SD card. Go to xda developer forum for downloadable roms.

And remember to follow the specific instructions for the ROM you're installing. That's the best way to avoid unwanted problems.

I got into the habit of flashing my roms manually. I feel like its safer as long as you understand what your doing. And it seems like I get a cleaner flash than with rom manager.
