Screwy location data?

Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago when I was at SeaTac. My phone kept telling me I was in Paris and it was 8am, 72 degrees. I was definitely in Seattle. I tried everything from settings to a battery pull. Nothing worked so I gave up and shut off my phone, since I was going to have to anyway once I was on the plane. When I landed in Atlanta several hours later and turned my phone back on, it seemed to work just fine. It's truly puzzling.

No, I'm not on wifi here. But I am at work, like the other person who reported it. I'll see if it fixes itself when I leave.

Well I drove home, which is a 36-mile trip. The clock widget showed me in Geelong Australia the entire way and still does. This despite the phone switching from 3G to wifi at home, as well.

I have to say it's persistent at least. Stuck, really.

I've had this happen to me when I have low (no) signal and GPS is turned off or I'm indoors. My phone will suddenly think I'm in Connecticut or Florida (I'm in DC). I chalked it up to some weird default if the phone can't figure out where it is when it's time to update. (I have the widget set to update every 6 hours.) Turning on wifi and manually refreshing fixes it.
