SD card as internal storage - link lost

The phone (daughters) stopped recognising the sd card which was formatted for internal storage.

My daughter clicked an option to forget the link or something without asking me...grrrr :'(

I know the card is encrypted so I can't read anything from it outside of the phone

Any way to re-establish the link (so that it may read the card again if it was an intermittent fault)??

Ummmm. Not quite sure what you are saying. Try settings/storage/sd card/tap on 3 dots/migrate. Otherwise plug the phone into your pc and have a look. The sd card storage set up in this phone is a nightmare, believe me, I know

The encryption "link" is a one time thing, it can't be "re-adopted" once the encryption key is gone. Try removing the back and remove and reinsert the SD card, but if the card has been converted back to portable storage, all data that could not be migrated to internal storage is gone.

In fact, I attempted to reformat a card after it's life in my my phone, and it is now bin fodder
