Android Central Question

I have an 32 GB Kingston Class 10 SD Card, works perfectly when using as portable storage and default sd card on android lollipop or old, but if i format it as internal storage, is really slow, i won't always get an message saying that sd works slowly, and when it says that, is really slow, but the problem is, it happens too when i don't get that message and works a little fast (still really slow), tried with SD Cards of the same capacity but it's the same, tested on Hisense L675, Hisense U989, Motorola G2, Lanix Ilium x520s

Also i want to ask. What SD Cards you recommend me? i want to know if the problem is my SD Card or the phones checking with better sd cards

Something i forgot, i even tried to increase sd card read speed with root but didn't work, only works for portable sd cards

Welcome to Android Central! You're going to get that with pretty much any SD card, because SD read/write speeds will always be slower than that for onboard memory. I suppose you might see somewhat better performance with higher speed cards, but probably not by much. It probably doesn't help that the phones you mention are 4-6 years old, which is pretty ancient by today's standards.

It's generally not recommended to rely on SD cards as Internal Storage anyway, since SD cards are inherently also less reliable, and if they fail, it could crash your system and cause data loss.

I'm not sure about the older phones for speed difference but I know current UFS storage in new phones is easily 10x faster than SD Cards. SD Cards are slow and I'm surprised Samsungs UFS cards they created a few years back didn't take off and replace them. Even high end cameras have left sd cards behind because they are too slow.

SD Cards can be great for storage, but any phone/tablet or computer running off one will crawl.
