Make sure it is actually all the way in. It will click to lock on place. You may need to use something small to push it all the way in. I had trouble getting it in as I don't have long fingernails.

It's in but still malfunctions.

There's a teenage boy in my mind laughing right now.

Yeah I laughed as I was typing too lol.

I would give verizon a call you probably need a replacement. There might be something wrong with the sd slot

Are you sure the SD card isn't the faulty item? If you have another device that accepts micro SD cards, try it there to see if it works. Or try a different SD in your Maxx.

I would think that if it were the sd card it would either work or not work, he said when he hits a little bump it does it. Makes me think it's something with the connection in the phone, but give it a try in your computer or another phone.

I think you're right, but I figured it's worth checking.

Look at it this way: a like new or refurbished unit that works is much better than a brand new one that's buggy. I've experienced this before with my previous Droid Incredible--the refurbished replacement worked and looked just fine.

Never had any problems a replacement. Half the time they work better than my original

Well at least they are free and can keep getting new ones until you get one you think is good enough.
