SD card issues

I recently rooted and am running Reborn ROM 2.1. I read about an app called Shredroid that goes through the system and physically removes previously deleted files. Now when I USB connect i get a message saying there is a problem using sd card for USB storage. So if I go to settings>SD card>mount SD card: I can then use USB storage, but the SD card is automatically removed. I think this has something to do with that app since I didn't have this problem before. Is my SD card no longer usable? I'm using Titanium Backup free version, but it doesn't work now obviously. Will upgrading to the paid version fix the problem?

Yes. Formatting didn't seem to do anything. I hit format, but not sure if that even worked as there wasn't any confirmation message or anything.

It seems like there is just a problem with the phone recognizing the SDcard. When I do a nandroid backup, I also copy all of the contents of my SDcard to a folder on my desktop. I think this is probably a noob thing to do or I just don't understand exactly what is going on with a nandroid backup, but anyways my computer recognizes the drive just fine, when the card is mounted, even though my phone says it isn't. If that helps at all...

Try uninstalling the program (if not done already), format the card using your PC, using the SD card adapter that most microSD cards are sent with, and perform a dirty flash of your ROM (flash without wiping data). It may also be helpful to clear your cache and dalvik while you are in recovery. If none of that works, you may want to perform a full data wipe and reflash your ROM. Be sure to perform a nandroid backup before you do any of the above steps so you can be sure to get back to where you are now if need be.

I did wiped everything and reflashed. That worked. One annoying side effect was that I now have a copy of every file on both the SD card and the internal memory. Not sure how that happened but at least I was able to take care of the sd card problems.
