SD card missing

I just bought my Evo and it's great. Except that for some unknown reason, all of a sudden, the SD card cannot be found. It'll say "SD Card Missing". I take the battery out, pull the SD card out and put it back in, then it works. Is there anyway to accomplish or fix this without having to take the battery out and restart the phone everytime?

How often does this happen? There is a OTA update coming out fix misc card issues.

I'm pretty sure that was fixed in the launch day update.

OP, check to see if there is an update.

Also, when you plug the Evo into a computer, it mounts the SD drive by default and the phone can't see it then. Careful of doing that.

The phone goes at most 2 hours before this happens. Then I have to restart it. I saw what happens to the SD card when plugged into the computer, but it seems to be doing it when it's not plugged in as well. I just did some kind of update, so we'll see if that works.

Also, on another side note, is there a way to tell how much capacity your battery has besides seeing it on the screen when the phone is asking for the security code? I can't seem to access the actual percentage when the phone is on and idle. Thanks!

The update was probably the one that fixes the SD card issue.

For battery stuff check out the market, there's a good deal of apps and widgets to fit your needs.

I downloaded the update - it didn't work - got the "SD card was unexpectedly removed" notification. I don't think it's a problem with the SD card itself - this would occasionly happen on my old centro as well.

Any other ideas?

So now in addition to the above problem, I am noticing that while the SD card is missing, the entire phone runs VERY slowly and stalls to uselessness until I take the battery.

On a side note, I've also had it happen 7 or 8 times that when the phone is off or idle, it will not turn back on no matter how much I press the on button. It evenutally turns back on after I remove and replace the battery.

Anybody got any solutions or should I just take the phone back and ask for a new one?

Thanks!
