SD Card not giving me my space

I've got a 16gb card in and had like 6.36gb of free space. as i was deleting music that i dont listen too/want on my phone any more i noticed it wasn't registering that it now had more free space. its still stuck at 6.36...i even deleted two of three of my nandroid backups that were on my sd card and it still hasn't changed the amount of free space. what gives?

Did you reboot? Or open and close the file manager you are using? It might need to refresh.

Are you using windows or a mac?

On a mac, you also have to empty the trash folder.

I'm on a mac. I usually just highlight what items i want to delete then select "move to trash"...so i have to empty the trash on the mac? seems weird but i'll give it a shot.

Groovy, thanks verwon...don't know why it worked or why emptying the trash on the computer mattered but it did work. You the man...or woman going by your avatar.

Yeah Macs are a P.I.A. that way. My only complaint about a Mac. If you have astro on your phone you can access the SD card through that and delete the .trash folder. Make sure its the one with the dot trash. That wasn't a typo.

I always have things in the trash on my Mac that I don't empty just as a precaution so I delete the file on the card. You don't have to be rooted for astro.
