Sd card not reading after 4.4.2 update

I have an S4 and just updated to 4.4.2 and for some reason any sd card i put in shows up but when removed it becomes unreadable and does not show up as inserted and even my laptop does not register that the card is inserted, has anyone else had this issue?

Welcome to Android Central! Are you unmounting the card first (in Settings>Storage)? You should always unmount the card before removing it.

Yep i have done that, the phone does not even show the sd card when inserted but was fine before the update.

What brand is the card?

The card was a Kingston,I've tried another sd card and looks like the update corrupted the original card so will have to buy another sd card.
