I'm having trouble figuring out how to set SD card storage as default for my photos. Any suggestions? I want the SD card to remain removable storage. Thanks.

From the camera app, go to settings, and under storage, select removable storage.

The option to change storage settings in the 11 is not available for photos taken with the camera app. The settings when using the camera allow the saving of photos to SD only when using RAW format.

Uhh.... you need to tell that to my microSD card, because it keeps storing all of my photos on itself. Even .jpg and movie files.

Nope. When you tell it to store photos on the card, that's where it stores them. All of them. End of story. That's how it was on the 10 as well.

I'm in the Camera app settings under storage. There is no entry to change form the "Internal shared storage". Please help.

Maybe it doesn't see your card. Use a file explorer (I use Astro File Manager) to make sure your card is visible. Maybe you need to allow the phone to format it. Here's my screen under phone settings.

I'm in total agreement with BigDinCA it's probably doesn't recognize the card.

I just followed Quikstep's instructions on my new red U11 and saw exactly what BigDinCA shows.

Hey, this is some fine tasting egg. :p

The amount of time I've spent trying different SD cards, researching and cursing was all for naught. Really, hours and hours of frustration all leading to the same result.
I apologize for my ignorance in my previous post. @BigDinCA is correct.

All this time I was unaware that the setting menu in the camera app is scroll-able. Duh. :D

Me too!

I don't have that option. Is a format required?

Did you tap the small arrow to expand the menu? If so, and you don't see your card as an option, you should make sure it's visible by checking in another app, like a file manager or even going through the device settings and looking at your storage. You should see your card in there. If not, format it. Of course, you'll save any data on it first.

Finally got it. Had to reseat my SD card in the uber flimsy frame and restart. Then it saw the card. Thanks for the advice all!
