SD card suddenly corrupted

I have a 64 gig SanDisk card in my note 4. Everything's been fine for a year and all the sudden tonight when I opened my phone it suddenly said the SD card is damaged and all of my files seem to be missing from it. Is there any way to fix this without reformatting the SD card??

Have you tried opening the card in a computer? They usually have the tools needed to fix file systems.

I haven't tried that yet. Thank you I'll give that a shot
