What do I do when phone says to mount a SD card when there is 1 installed and it was working?

Before trying another card:
Turn phone off.
Remove and re-insert card.
Turn phone back on.
If the card still is not recognized, then try a new card.
Turn phone off.

Thanks for the replies. I tried turning the phone off and reinstalling my card. It works sometimes but not always. So I'm going to get a new card.
