I recently inserted my 32gb sdram card into my new Nextbook tablet PC running Windows 8.1 to transfer my music files. I've had this card for 4 or 5 years now... I purchased it when I got my first Android which was the venerable HTC EVO. I did NOTHING... I type that in caps because it is an important detail. My tablet PC said the card had an unrecognized filesystem and offered to format it. So in a panic, knowing how windows often makes decisions on my behalf, I removed the card as quickly as possible and put it back into my Galaxy S4 phone.
Now my phone says the card is blank or unreadable and offers to format it. Well the card had about 28gb of data on it including of course videos and photos of family which exist nowhere else (Google photo didn't seem to completely back up my pictures to my chagrin).
How do I recover the data on the card? There is no reason why if should be gone. Can I somehow rebuild the file allocation or header or directory table? Something? Any help word be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and thanks for reading this, from a loyal Linux and Android user.
