search in contacts is not searching anything - One Plus 3

I am not able to search my contacts.
I can see contacts in the list. I know certain contacts are available, right there in the list. It shows. But when I search, the search result is just empty.

Phone: One Plus 3.
Android: 8.0.0
OxygenOS version: 5.0

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Oreo forum to the OnePlus 3 forum, since it's more likely a device-specific issue, not a general Oreo one.

That link doesn't take me to a specific video -- can you make sure your video is visible to anyone with the link?

Does this happen with any contact, or only certain ones? If the contact doesn't have an actual name, but instead is being listed only by the Company Name field, that might make it invisible to the search feature.

There have been so many problems with the 8.0 OTA update that OnePlus has pulled it from circulation. Some users have had success doing a factory reset - but even then there are still some having issues.

Strange! Have been running Android 8.0 Beta on my OP3 for quite some time with no issues and the stock Oneplus Android 8.0 firmware is still available for download on the Oneplus 3 site, here...

I wonder if the first poster has wiped the cache of the Contacts app or wiped dalvik and cache in Recovery Mode to see if that helps.
