Second screen protection?

Hi - planning an upgrade from my v40, but reading lots of reports of the glass on the outside of the 2nd screen shattering.

Has anybody tried putting a clear tpu cover or tpu bumper + screen protector on it to give protection? Just wondering if there's some kind of workaround. For only $50 over phone only at Tmo it would be silly not to get it, but I don't want to break it :-/.

I bought this on Amazon and am using it to cover the outside and inside of the 2nd screen. It also comes with a protector for the phone but I'm already using a Zagg protector on that.

Have you dropped it at any point? Just trying to figure out how fragile that external face really is.

Haven't dropped it. The external face sounds like plastic but hard to tell. I was more worried about it scratching going in and out of my pocket.
I'm not sure how you'd put a tpu case on it since there is a hinge on one side. It also can't wrap around the inside edge so might not stay in. Does someone make one for it?

Lots of reviews with photos that say it's glass and show it broken - look at the Tmo page.

I was thinking it could go on just the outside and wrap round (basically putting it on "backwards"), but your solution looks great and possibly bettwr. I might try that first!

I used my 2 screen case for a week it fell maybe foot and a half the outside screen cracked in the corner. I seen where the cost to replace the dual screen case 150.00 to 200.00
