Secret Volume Adjustment[Solved]

Since yesterday i have noticed my Media Volume has been lowering itself without the audio UI appearing or my pressing any buttons it does not fully mute and i can raise it back to maximum but soon after it lowers itself again and i am at a loss for ideas any help to solve this issue would be appreciated.

i do not have a phone case i am using a Samsung galaxy s9 this problem happens whenever i open apps like browsers or some others i was told that it may have been a bad app that i installed but the only app i have installed recently was Renamer created by dire studios and only had it installed for maybe 5 minutes before deletion and have since removed the app i am not sure if this could be some form of obscure form of malware or a bug with samsung software Has anybody else experience this issue recently if so have you found a fix

Welcome to AC!

Did you lower the volume with the button in YouTube or any media apps ? Because it will lower in your screen shot if u used the volume button in a Media app

thanks for the response no i have not lowered the volume myself and the volume will not go below the level shown in the screenshot on its own i will turn it up all the way and open a browser and boom right back to that level ive even tried leaving it for an hour in the browser after it lowered itself and it stays at that level until i turn it back to maximum then it goes back down to that level in a loop im not really sure whats causing this

it can be reproduced to some level of consistency by opening any of the apps ill list here firefox/brave/chrome/instagram/reddit whenever i open those apps it usually lowers the volume i have not tried with any other apps but it seems to be the same no matter what app i use if i dont stay on the home screen or in spotify it lowers automatically to that level

Hmm I would say try safe mode but it defeats the purpose because it turns off 3rd party apps.

You can try going into settings>apps>3 dots upper right corner tap and reset app preference see if it helps

i did that and the issue has decreased in frequency but still happens after a while do you think this could be some form of malware as silly as it sounds or is it maybe just a new bug with samsung galaxy s9 devices as another user has posted about having the same issue https://forums.androidcentral.com/s...-my-audio-adjusting-without-notifying-me.html could we just be at the mercy of samsung for a fix?

I doubt any malware , do you go to any shady sites or download unknown sources ?

Probably a glitch , is your device pretty stock, not much 3rd party apps , no app cleaners Samsung sound assistant app?

the only "shady" app i have downloaded is a app titled "Renamer" that im unsure of since it only had 10k downloads but i deleted it as soon as i noticed and as for stock i have never rooted and i have no apps installed via apk its all the basic apps you would expect from a phone with a few games here and there is there a way for me to report this issue to samsung directly or is the s9 a dead phone in terms of updates

You can try another thing that came to mind , go to settings>general management>reset>reset settings

i have plugged some in a few hours ago after the problem started and oddly enough the audio maintains a steady volume when headphones are plugged in but i doubt its a audio jack bug as whenever you plug in headphones the Media menu appears

Try resetting settings that should work if u had headphones plugged in recently

That appears to have fixed the problem ive been here for these past few minutes opening and closing apps while music is playing and the volume hasnt gone down once i appreciate the help greatly i mean this problem was driving me crazy
