Security & Privacy app - is it necessary or recommended?

My S10+ came with a Verizon app named Security & Privacy. I don't recall that this feature was installed on my previous Verizon/Samsung phones. If it's something that's effective and makes sense to keep, I'll do so and adjust the notifications to be a little more friendly. It can't be uninstalled, but can be disabled, if that's the route I choose to take. Thanks.

I have it on my Note 8. Not sure how effective it is, but it does run scans and tells me of any issues. A year + in, I haven’t had any.
