Security flashing w/o update

I'm on Marshmallow currently with September security update, is it possible to flash the October security update without installing Nougat?

(I don't like N, nor will I ever like it since my 5X refuses to work properly with it.)

I'm not sure you can do that, I think the security updates are embedded in the system ones...
