My Z2 decided to download a security update this morning: NDSS26 118-23-4.

It said installation would take about 10 minutes and that seems to be accurate. I am always a little nervous about Android updates but I went ahead anyway.

So far, no changes that I can see. Security patch level still says August 1, 2017, so whatever was fixed was apparently to fix issues with the first update (NDSS26-118).

Battery life for me actually improved after the NDSS26-118 update so fingers crossed for either more improvement or at least the same battery life as before.

I had read that Motorola/Lenovo was very slow with updates but so far that does not seem to be true with the Z2 Play.

Installing the update right now. I'm OK with slow OS level updates, as long as the security updates keep rolling in at a respectable rate.
I read a while back (can't source it right now :( ) that was Blackberries play with their Android OS security updates. Keep the current OS as updated and secure as possible. Even early on they were getting the security patches out at the same pace that Google themselves were getting them to their Nexus devices, and then hold off on the new OS until they can make sure that it's just as secure if not more.

keep in mind that security updates system has a different approach that eases updates to be delivered, I have an old device (P8 lite) which stopped receiving system updates long ago yet it still receives security updates.
