Hi

Just wondering that now it's November when do the monthly security updates hit our devices.

When did they come for September and October. Any fix dates or is it a gradual rollout?

My Nexus 5 and 5X both show that the security patch is dated Oct 1, but, IIRC, it showed up on the 7th or 8th of Oct on my 5 (before I got the 5X).

Anyone received the security updates yet?

Still waiting to hit my Nexus 5x

As much as I don't care for iPhones, this just shows the incompetence of Google when it comes to updates. Apple has millions more iPhones to update, yet pushes out the update to every phone on the same day. Yet there are a ton of Nexus 6 users who have yet receive Marshmallow. Not that I NEED this update, but how long will I have to wait for the next major OS? Everyone always says to buy a Nexus if you want timely updates, but clearly that doesn't always seem to work . Google's strategy is subpar compared to Apple.

5x here in MA on AT&T. My son got the update several days ago, I'm still waiting.

Honestly don't understand why the roll-out of a monthly security patch should take the better part of a month. A non-technical user might think something is broken with their phone; a technical user is just plain annoyed.

Hi

Just received my update for the November security patches weighing in at 6.8mb.

Still nothing here..

Coming from unlocked iPhone and developer preview Windows phone where I got updates from source, this is not impressing me....especially when I read more and more about security risks on this platform. My company stopped allowing android byod since "Stagefright." Only iPhone and Windows Phones allowed. now realizing this is only a 7mb update really has me amazed. Is there a concern that these updates might be so problematic they are doing a stepped rollout?

They should seriously update these forums so they are connected between sites, just like my login and password are, for post counts so you can post a link....

Go to productforums dot google dot com
Go to nexus forums
A google engineer explains the update process now, which is good, but not good in that they do guinea pig everyone, seems light internal testing. 1 percent in 48 hours, then up to 3 weeks for everyone.... Glad to know that a vulnerability could be in the wild for up to 3 weeks after they state they closed it and offered a fix.

My N5X and Nexus 9 received the update within 5 minutes of each other. Both now state 1st November 2015.

Finally received marshmallow for my Nexus 7 yesterday and woke up today with this month's update for my 5x!!!
